Afraid I am having D810 RIGHT Autofocus issue

First let me admit that I am not an expert – I did these tests based on my limited knowledge and please don’t jump into the conclusions (feel free to correct me if I am wrong). Other than Right AF issue (24MM @2.8), so far I am thrilled about my evolutionary upgrade from legendary D800E (I am one of the person who bought when it released in 2012).

Finally I managed to do some Autofocus test today. Ironically I am afraid I am having Right Autofocus issues @ 24MM 2.8 (Tamron Model A007N) as I experienced with my D800E (I had similar RIGHT focus issue with my D800E - finally Nikon Support fixed it in March 2013). My other lenses @ 70MM(2.8) & 50MM (1.8) and even Tamron @ 70MM(2.8) works fine. As I mentioned on Monday, I ironically felt JPEG ISO12800 is better than IS06400 ( – it seems D800E JPEG @ ISO6400 is better.

I hope I did something wrong in my testing (you can see the setup in the mirror) or I am the only guinea pig. You may download the full resolution images from I am glad to upload my other test files on Left, Center & Right testing if anyone interested.

These are Crops to show the focus issue
