Okay samples as promised

Here we go, series of shots for you to have a look at. These are full size JPG's exported at 100% quality.

Lightroom First, see captions for what has been done. Default sharpening left on.

LR, Reset selected, nothing done to the image.

LR, Exposure +2, Highlights -100. Nothing else. Look at the chair, and the table/silverware for the noise. Bad fringing on people on the right.

LR,  As above, this time noise reduction 25, lens corrections applied.

Okay, time for DxO.

DxO. As it appears on opening, it already has done it's lens adjustments for distortion, fringing etc. Noise reduction turned OFF, made sure of this.

DxO. Exposure +2, Highlights -100, nothing else touched. Lots of noise in the chair, table, silverware.

DxO. Prime.  That's it, clicked one button. love it, go check the noise now

I hope that gives you an idea of the differences between the 2. The other real biggie is the standard colour DxO gives you, just "richer".
