GH4 - I lose the ability to use autofocus when switching to 24.00hz frequency

I switch the camera frequency to 24.00hz so that I can use Cinema 4K, and for some reason all autofocus is dissabled. On the screen it says MF, and the physical switch does nothing. The touch screen quick menus don't even hover over the focus option so it can't be changed there. Is there something I am missing? A setting I have forgotten to change. Basically, If I do a complete setting reset, AF is there.. as soon as I switch to 24hz it defaults and locks to MF. Using the Panasonic 14-45mm OIS. Any help appreciated!

EDIT: After further searching I have found that the camera locks MF at 24p, not only the 4K option. So FHD 24p is also locked. Selecting the option to shoot 4K at 30p does work for example with AF, however this isn't the full cinema 4K option I was hoping for.
