Any interesting question - ".... is photography fading as an art form?" Actually I think it is just the opposite. I think maybe we are leaning too far into the "art form". In the old days photography was more of a document form. That is the photographer recorded history. And in a way it was its own art form. Artists at the time worried that photography would distroy art. Ironically, with all the advancement in cameras in this digital age, it seems more people want to embellish the photo to the artistic extreme. Thus we seem to make the end result more art like than photo like. We use things like HDR, various filter, bokea, lighting effects .... you name it, we do it. Fix it in post! It seems nobody wants a good old photograph today. Harrumph!
