One more Milky Way shot with the X-T1 and the 18mm
7

This was probably the most colorful and possibly the best Milky Way shot from Friday night. It was taken near Mackenzie Lake 10 miles northwest of Silverton on Tule Creek, a tributary of the Prairie Dog Fork of the Red River. I set up just off the road and waited for the last light of day to fade. This is what I was greeted with. Post in Lightroom.

f/2.0 ISO 1250 30 second exposure.

Always best to view the larger version...

The 18mm does seem to suffer from coma but not so bad as to be unusable.

For some reason DPReview will not allow me to link to a map of the location.. seems silly but they make the rules.

The ability to 'see' the shot is more important than the gear used to capture it.
