Better than the standard MkII Olympus 14-42 kit lens

I use this lens because it performs well in every respect, and specifically because it beat the standard MkII Olympus 14-42 kit lens which I tested it on my E-PM2 against last year for both contrast and resolution. When I tested it against the Panasonic 14/2.5 on my E-P2 back in 2011, I saw no perceptible optical advantage to the pancake lens.

Optical performance is good right from maximum aperture, and with more consistency through the focal length range than the Olympus (eg my Olympus was clearly worse at the edges at 18mm than at 14mm; not so this lens).

The IS works reasonably well and is certainly more effective than the in body IS of my E-PM2.
