I am doing a little research as to how people interpret the term "image resolution". Could you please frankly answer the following question: when asked "what is this image resolution?" would you answer something like '900x600' or '72dpi'?

Thanks in advance.

I think my interpretation would change with context. With no other context I'd assume they were asking for exact resolution (900 x 600).

If I said "I took this photo, I think it'd look good on our catalogue" and they asked "what's the resolution?" I'd assume they were asking if it's high enough to print or not, so I'd say "300dpi" or whatever.
