D810 + Otus -- ND-X vrs ACR beta

Thanks to you all here, and especially digital ed, I'm now a believer in ND-X. I had been using ACR beta for my first few shots, even after reading Nasim's comments on Photography Life. I only had the latest NX-2, and somehow missed NX-D.

Now I've begun reprocessing my D810 images (all Otus so far), and WOW what a difference:

  1. Colors are more true
  2. Sharpness is staggeringly better on some images (see comparison below)
  3. Microcontrast is also way better

See for yourself:

ND-X processed full resolution image, but at JPG medium (30%) quality

ACR (beta) processed full resolution image, but at JPG medium (30%) quality

If you grab a part of these images and overlay them in Photoshop, going back and forth will show an astounding difference, especially in sharpness.

Boy did Adobe miss the boat in this beta (as so many others have said, here)!
