IMO the XA1 handles like many other cameras, but the X100 is a unique experience. I think you should rent an X100 to try it out for a few days.

If you were to mix up X100 and XA1 photos without EXIF data, assuming the XA1 used a similar focal length, I doubt you would be able to pick out which camera took which photos. That is why handling is also important when choosing between two different cameras.
