Reason I Did Not Use My Sony a6000 On Vacation Last Week

I we went on a camping trip last week. I took my Canon 70D and 6D with Tamron 16-300 VC and Tamron 150-600 VC and Canon 70-200 f4 IS with Canon 1.4X TC III; Sony a6000 with 16-50 kit lens and 35mm f1.8 OSS; and Olympus OMD EM5 and Olympus EPL5 with Panasonic 14-140 OIS and Olympus 9-18mm. So, what equip. did I use:

1. Canon 70D and 6D with Tamron 16-300 VC and Tamron 150-600 VC;

2. Olympus OMD EM5 and Olympus EPL5 with Panasonic 14-140 OIS.

This tells me that I really need a walk around 18-250 OSS lens for my Sony. I found the 43rds cameras to be very useful due to the smaller size and weight (note Canons much heavier and bigger), but I found the major factors were:

1. Ability to use just one zoom on the camera to get a wide range of photos while still getting pretty good IQ.

2. A long Tele Zoom (the Tamron 150-600 VC (big and heavy but very useful for long shots).

Going camping again this week and taking my Olympus OMD EM5 and Olympus EPL5 with Panasonic 14-140 OIS and Olympus 9-18mm and Panasonic 100-300 OIS (to replace the Tamron 150-600 VC).  Should be much lighter setup with less equip.

Again, major point is that Sony needs an all-in-one zoom and long range tele zoom.
