Nikon D3000 setting manual aperture issues.
I'm trying to use my D3000 in manual mode but it seems to be doing it's own thing. I"m using the 55mm kit lens and it will only let me set the f stop to 36 if I zoom in close to an object. If I zoom out it steps the f stop down. I've tried resetting everything I can think of. I change it to f 36 in A mode and if I change it to M it will reset itself to whatever f stop it thinks is right. It seems to me I was able to set the aperture to whatever I chose in M mode before but something seems to have changed. Anyone have any ideas?
