Some curious parallels, Sweden & Japan

Traveling in Japan 2 years ago, I noticed that the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto had a gold "chicken" atop the roof:

This reminded me of the last time I had been in Sweden, at Rättvik Kyrka - a large old church something like a country "catherdral" which also has a gold "Chicken" on top, and on the main gate:

A closer view of the Rättvik "chicken" ( I don't have a zoomed-in shot of the one in Japan, but you can zoom in a bit on the photo):

Maybe the japanese one is a phoenix? Maybe the Swedish one is, too?

Additionally, Sweden is famous for it's iconic painted wooden horses ("Dalahäst"), shown here in large size with daughter & grandson aboard, steadied by soninlaw, doing his Steve Jobs impression, but with a smile:

However, one of the first things I noticed when we began our first day in Sweden, in Uppsala, was this Japanese horse in a shop window. Notice the shape:

Now, I don't know what's going on, here. Coincidence?

Any ideas?

Pogo once said: "It's enough to make a man think."

And we all know that's a dangerous thing.
