Re: Print is dead!

I just turned 23, and my 'real-life' friends (ranging in age from 18 - 30) who do most of their photography with iPhones (and who wouldn't know a Nikon D810 from a Boeing 737) can still tell the difference in technical quality between a picture shot on a phone and a picture shot on an SLR, even when viewed on Instagram or Tumblr. Dynamic range, rendering quality, lens quality, FOV, etc. are all still apparent and relevant absent resolution. So while most of my friends - more or less quintessential American "young people" - view photos on their phones at 640 x 640 (if that), they still recognize the quality which is ambiguous to them, but you and I would know as being resultant from a larger sensor, higher-end camera.
