Make sure it's the 18-55 and NOT the 16-50.  The 16-50 is typically bundled with the X-A1 and X-M1, while the 18-55 is typically bundled with the X-E1, X-E2, and X-T1.  There are exceptions of course.

The 16-50 is an "XC" lens, while the 18-55 is an "XF" lens.  The 18-55 has a larger aperture, has an aperture ring, and a better build quality.  There is nothing wrong with the 16-50; it's a typical "kit" lens.  The 18-55, while still considered a "kit" lens, is a high end kit lens.
