NO, if:

  • you look at images, not pixels
  • you choose your scenes and light carefully
  • you don't try to salvage badly exposed shots)

I don't have an EM-1, but I believe you can tweak it's JPEG engine?  With that, you should be able to get good images to work with often.

Learning to work within the constraints of your tools is the key to happiness.

On the other hand, if your hobby is torturing your images, then you want to shoot RAW.  Oh, and make sure you buy all the RAW converters you can get your hands on.
