How's my MFA (70D) on these shots?

Still trying to warm up to the 70D.  This time I'm trying a Canon 70-300 L on it.  I've gotten used to always having a MFA session with this camera.  I find telephoto harder to adjust than medium lengths.  I settled on W +2, T 0.  This is the smallest adjustment I've done for this camera.  Shot at f/5.6 and mostly 300mm with heavy crop.  I've seen sharper but I don't feel they're too bad.

This is as close as I could get to this old boy.  He's got his eye on me.  Green Heron?

He decided to hop on a log

bokeh at f/5.6

This is mostly me in post but the camera/lens did provide some pastels.
