Like the title says, is there anyway to get exposure compensation in movie mode with the xz-2?

I can only answer for the Olympus models I have, going back to the C-750UZ. Some models do, some don't. My current SH-1 and SH-50 do.

What precisely is your problem? I am asking this because my SP-570UZ could not stop down or shorten the shutter speed far enough in bright sunlight, although the normal EV adjustment could be observed to work on test videos in moderate brightness.

Conversely, in dark conditions, in order to get 30 frames per second, the shutter speed cannot be longer than 1/30 second, and the maximum aperture is determined by your tele setting, Here your XZ-2 should be more tolerant than my SH series jobs.
