RX10 Image Quality
Every time I buy a new camera, I think I'm not seeing images as sharp as I'd expected. So, I research the "problem," take test pictures, bother people on forums, etc. This is a character flaw, I think, and suffered by many others.
I just bought a Sony RX10 and shot a few pictures around the house. Uh-oh: sharpness problems! So I followed my usual pattern of research, messaging, testing.
Here's a few images I took yesterday in a local park. I've made some adjustments in Lightroom and exported them as JPGs. Adjustments were easy, using Clarity, Detail and some exposure adjustments. All are uncropped. I was also noodling with a polarizer but can't remember which of these were taken with it. I also tested the sharpness settings in the camera but could see no difference in one setting over another.
I realize that again, I've over-reacted or the lack of clarity was the result of user error, not camera issues. These look very acceptable to me, from a sharpness perspective. I'm wondering if others agree.
PS: my RS10 tends to over-expose, as others have mentioned. An easy fix.
