SH-1 - Reflections in a Still Harbour
On Sunday, the weather forecast said 'Fog in the morning', which means 'Still water in the harbour the night before'. I felt last time in June that I could do better, so out I went with SH-1, tripod, a warm jacket and a head lamp to check those settings that are not illuminated on tripod and camera.
The 'Level' display on my SH-1 is calibrated on my level work desk - don't rely on the factory setting! At home again, my pictures and videos were tilting just 0.2 degrees to the right. PSE7 Custom Rotation allows me that precision, AVS Video Converter only does slant corrections of 1 degree and above.
The scene has mixed artificial lighting. WB AUTO could not make up its mind, and WB Fluorescent gave the closest match on the LCD. PSE7 correction was - mid-tones +1/6 GREEN, highlights and shadows -1/6 BLUE.
This video consists of under six minutes of ferry movement, out of a 37 minute total -
Correction in AVS Video Converter was Gamma 10, Contrast 4, RED 0, GREEN 2, BLUE -1.
