7D replacement rumor - don't click if you hate 'em - DPAF prowess

I have no doubts that Canon has only scratched the surface with DPAF.  Quite simply, as people outside of the company, we don't know what we don't know.  Before DPAF in the 70D, LITERALLY NO ONE was talking about it.  I even remember one of the first rumors about it (shortly before the 70D launched) on Canon Rumors, someone tipped him off like this: _ _ A F.  He then posted it and NO ONE guessed Dual Pixel.  Like... NO ONE.

So, for us to be able to imagine what Canon has in store isn't overly likely.  In this case, because DPAF is now a known tech, we can wrap our heads around some of the possibilities because the basis is already there - but in the future expect to be impressed by where Canon goes with this.

If Canon can fix the noise at low ISO issue (which should fix the DR issue for all those who care) and simultaneously implement some really cool stuff with DPAF (like DUAL ISO a la Magic Lantern, plus who knows what else), then other manufacturers really do have a major reason to worry, IMO.
