What’s in my bag for Japan? Advice appreciated

Going to Japan in September with the family. 1 week in Tokyo then 2 weeks in Osaka with short trips to Hiroshima and Kyoto in between. Very excited! Keen to take some nice travel and family holiday shots.

Would love to get some advice on what I should take and any tips for shooting in Japan. I want to travel light and thinking of taking the following in my Crumpler camera bag:

· Sony A6000 – my “big” camera with 1 spare battery

· Ricoh GR – my 28mm eqv prime and back up camera

· SEL35f18 – my go to lens for the A6000

· SEL16-50PZ - Use it less now that I have the Ricoh. Should I take it?

· SEL55-210 zoom – don’t use this much but it could be handy?

· UltraPod II – Compact mini tripod

· 49mm neutral density filter and a polarizing filter

· Bits and bobs like remote, lens pen, cleaner etc

Any other items for the trip? I am actually quite happy with the USB charging of the A6000. It also charges my mobile and other devices so saves space. Leaving my big tripod, flash, heavy vintage lenses behind.

I am thinking of buying:

· Another A6000 battery and a spare Ricoh GR battery?

· More SD cards or a portable hard-disk?

· A portable battery charger. I heard these are good to plug your camera to whilst in your bag.

· A wide angle lens such as the Samyang 14mm?

All good reasons to visit some camera shops in Japan too!

Any tips and ideas for what to take and general photography/travel in Japan much appreciated. Anyone been to The Sony Building in Tokyo?

Regards, Rodders
