Re: You think his review is negative, watch this:

in agreement with you Tom with regards to Sigma might want to consider releasing something mainstream. but I think Sigma's priority right now is not to involve itself in an already crowded mainstream market which in my opinion is a good choice. this is due to the fact that brand bias especially in North America is prevalent and mostly would go for more popular, well-established brands. most salespersons don't help either by suggesting their brand of choice.

Sigma hasn't established itself as a camera brand for general consumers and that is a big risk and could be a costly one.

anyway, the OP's review of the camera is more of a comparison towards what is called as everyday use camera which the Sigma is not. so categorizing of the Sigma is definitely misplaced and considerations are neglected.  the Sigma is not meant to compete for overall use like a P&S. it is meant to do something special and definitely not and should not be considered as a one-trick pony as it could offer more than a conventional APS-C Bayer sensor could offer, not in terms of overall usage. it is like saying or comparing a mirrorless compact Panasonic or Fuji over a Medium-Format camera. does this mean that a Medium Format camera is a one trick pony considering it is not an everyday camera? I not think so.
