You really have to be a fully competent photographer to get the most out of this camera. Your review sounds like you're the kind of person who would buy a 4X4 vehicle and expect it to compete well with an F1 car. It just doesn't work that way.

You gave it a rating for studio photography... did you actually use it in a studio -- or did you just make that one up?

One has to learn how to get the most out of the equipment they choose to spend their money on.

Rating on your review: 0 - inept, ill informed user.

You have to be a fully competent photographer to get the most out of any camera. Imagine most of us here getting a Nikon 4d dumped in our lap and told to shoot some downhill affair in the Swiss Alps. For that, it is brilliant, but I would have to spend a week learning how to use the thing and then another week developing the technique to get the amazing images that camera is capable of. And if I were then sent to shoot the NBA in some indoor light-from-hëll arena, I would need another couple of weeks to sort that out.

One of the most remarkable things about all of these cameras is that people like this Ken Rockwell cousin do not understand that it takes time to learn out how to get the most out of any device.

I would love to see his test report on the Tesla S85 - if he didn't crash it in the second corner. "And it doesn't even have a place to put the gas!!!," he yells.

I already said elsewhere that the DP cameras are the most easiest cameras to use. First, the controls ... The controls are extremely easy. Second, the flaws... The flaws of the camera are blatant. No need to be rocket scientist to see it.

The thing is that this reviewer, whoever he is, is right and radical in partiality:

To take "photos" or "instants" , this camera is not even on par with a smartphone.

You need a far more long learning curve to masterize a tool like a D700 or a D800, for instance.

So the guy took the camera, went outside in automode and snapped few shoots.

His impressions will be shared with every casual photographers who will try or buy this device.

And he deserve a bit of respect (not speaking about you, Laurence, you're a respectful pal).

[Mod: edited out disrespectful comment]
