Thanks for your kind comments JP.

Initially I thought it was not worth the upgrade, but the more I use the V3 the more I realize that the lack of hot mirror does help in feather detail, plus the extra megapixels help a lot when cropping. If you do not crop or pixel peep then the V1 by all means is great.

I agree 100% on the fact that the sturdiness, weight, overally feeling of this super-tele, as well as the sharpness wide open, very fast AF and great VR rank the lens very near the TOP Nikon's "big guns" !

Now, I wonder if it's "necessary" to get myself a V3 body..... Do you think I will see a difference in IQ between my actual V1 and a V3 ?

BTW, your set of images is just superb , as usual ! You seem to make the most of any body+lens equipment you use !
