I could but I don't want to have to deal with purple blotches. I know because I used to own an SD15, worst camera I ever owned.

I think it's telling that you say the SD15 is the worst camera you've ever owned, when there are a few Sigma shooters that say the SD15 is the best camera they've ever owned. Interesting, how polarizing Foveon sensor cameras can be, isn't it?

I liked quite a few of the images that I took with the SD15 and 50mm f2.8 I owned for a few weeks.

I learned that you cannot shoot such a camera wide open (as I had wanted to) because of continual, dramatic and completly erratic focus inaccuracies. In one series of an embossed plaque on a building, taken in afternoon daylight from about 30m away, only 4 of 14 pics were usably in focus.

So, for me, the SD15 experiment was a failure.  I can easily understand how someone found it wanting. Maybe if I shot everything stopped down it would be OK?

I'm sure my expectation that such a Sigma combination would shoot in focus, (even most of the time,) tells you something about me, too.
