Now, comparing 29MP to 45MP with such large difference in photon sensors count but dp2q only loss so little details compared to Merrill. It seem to me that the 1:1:4 arrangement really have high potential.

Well, yes- in the real world you get less noise in "red" and "green" plus less data to move around. If the issues of noise were solvable, 1:1:1 would still be better.  As it is, there's pros and cons. I wouldn't call it "little detail" from what I have seen- it really varies per subject.

But I certainly prefer the Quattro overall to the Merrill.
