RX10 to Australia?
1

Hey Everyone,

Usually I'm over in the Nikon forums, but I am really looking at getting a Sony RX10 or RX100 III for my upcoming trip to Australia. I currently have a Nikon d7100 and quite a few nice lenses, and I was stressing about image quality versus portability on my honeymoon vacation. Then I stumbled upon a few articles and a lesson session at Lynda.com with Travel Photographer David Hobby. He talks about taking a smaller fixed lens camera on almost all his shoots now and loves it over the DSLR setup. This sounds appealing to me, but image quality is a HUGE concern for me. I'm a bit of a pixel peeper and I love photo editing in LR5 and PS, so quality is a must.

In short my question is this: Should I get an RX10, an RX 100 III (can someone summarize these differences for me besides one is smaller?) or something else for my upcoming trip, and if I do will I miss having my DSLR. Budget isn't really a concern for me, so I don't care about saving money. I really only care about a balance of awesome IQ combined with portability. Thanks for your help and I appreciate you answering my long question!
