with regard to lenses, there are many very nice vintage Minolta lenses out there. some are very sharp, some not so. but most of them render colours very nicely and have very pleasing bokeh. you might want to have a look at dyxum.com with their vast lens data base (in case you hadn't already). you can see what lenses exist and how they are rated by the users, what are their strengths and weaknesses.

Yes, I have picked up a couple of them after seeing what people said about them on that site.  It's very helpful.  I'm probably going to buy a 50mm f2.8 macro next, as I really need one, and I don't plan to buy a 100mm macro until Sony releases it in the native mount, since the adapted one is kind of huge....

Even in the cheaper lenses I've gotten so far, the colors and bokeh are very good....the longer consumer grade zooms have to be stopped down pretty substantially to reduce their CA and get decently sharp, but in the right circumstances I've gotten some very nice results with them.  People seem to rate the 50mm macro very highly for its sharpness and color rendition, so I am looking forward to using one when I can find a good copy at a reasonable price.

I was surprised at how well the adapter actually works with the A mount lenses, so that was really a bonus for me, and it's a lot of fun to experiment with the legacies, especially since most of them are not earth-shakingly expensive. Eventually I will end up with the right combo of lenses for my purposes; in M43 it took several years, so I expect it will take a while with this camera too .
