This is not my opinion, but if you read all of the lens tests around the web, the Voigtlanders 25mm is the resolution king. Resolution is not just the highest values in the centre of the frame, but also the lowest difference in resolution between the centre and the edges, as well as at what f-Stop that occurs.

Whose opinion? Can you provide some links to back up what you've just said?

I've read several reviews of the Voigtlander 25mm Nokton (e.g. Ming Thein, Luminous Landscape, etc.) and a common point is that this lens has softer corners than the centre (as you would expect). Ming's even writes "optically, it’s definitely not the best I’ve used".

Any lens is softer in the corners than in the center. But the difference can be large or small. The CV 25/0.95 distinguishes itself by being so soft in the extreme corners (which are not necessarily included in MTF tests) unless stopped down very significantly (f/5.6) that I would consider it unusable for any shot where corner sharpness is important. See here:

Thanks for that link. Some interesting reading.

I'm aware of that any lens will have softer corners than the centre. I was asking Maklike Tier to back up his claims about the CV 25 lens ("resolution king"). Recommending a lens like the CV 25 isn't helpful to the OP who specifically asked for the sharpest lenses.

I understood that. I just wanted to reinforce your point even more.

Haha. All good.

Personally, the only draw of the CV 25 for me is the f0.95 and using it for video work.

Same here. And neither of those two is a sufficiently strong attraction for me to get one. I am happy with the light and small primes in the f/1.7 to f/2.0 range that I have (12/2, 20/1.7, 45/1.8, 75/1.8) and don't find much reason to hunt for something faster still.

Yep agreed. I'm looking to add the Oly 25/1.8 to fill the gap in my kit.
