The Prob with NEX is --->
3
I`ve had my share of NEX cams, all the bodies are superb from the original NEX3/5 through the superb handling 7 to the fast AF A6000 etc but came down to the old problem of Glass starvation - there still isn`t a single worthy compact affordable standard zoom, the 18-55 sucks even worse on 24Mp than it did on 14 and I found that even a good rare sample of the pancake ain`t much better , athe system isn`t flooded with compact cheap primes like M43 either .......
to be honest, the situation in M43 wasn`t much better until recently unless you found a good Panny 14-45 (which is a lot better than any Sony kit lens) but nowadays with the decent Oly 14-42R-II and the Panny 14-42-IIHD it`s a lot better from what I`ve seen - even the much hated Panny 14-42PZ is better than the samples of the NEX Pancake I`ve witnessed and the 18-55.. the old Oly 14-42 is optically very good, shutter shock shakes the front element causing softness there ...... the situation with telezooms is a lot better too in M43 there are more decent affordable options than you can shake a stick at where all NEX has is the decidedly average 55-230 .
I really wish the EOS-M 18-55 and 22mm F2 were available in all mounts, the 22mm beats the Panny 20mm F1.7 for corner to corner sharpness at all apertures and the 18-55 is stellar wideopen with fantastic IS, it matches the infamous Fuji 18-55 F2.8-4 at Corresponding apertures despite the Fuji being stopped down! .
Yep, Sony have produced yet another excellent body in the A6000, they`re good at that (the 7 still wins for Ergos though IMO) but they`ve still not got the message after all this time to junk the crappy kit lenses and design ones which are even up to the quality of the 1st gen cameras let alone the latest 24Mp stuff .. a system wins or loses on its glass, M43 isn`t most popular because of its sensors or even the bodies
