You also said that you had difficulty loading canvas. This is a problem will all canvases with the 3880.

There are a few solutions to this around the Internet, but what I do is use the top sheet feeder.

This will only work if you select one of the thinner papers like Premium Presentation Matte (for matte black ink) as your paper type in order to trick the printer into using the sheet feeder. You will then have to select the proper paper thickness and platen gap as well as playing with the ink load setting.

I use this method to print on Breathing Color Lyve canvas and it works great. Since I coat my finished canvas with Glamour II veneer, I don't bother with gloss or semi-gloss canvas. The matte black ink on the matte canvas yields much better contrast.
