Tamron 70-200 2.8 non VC + Kenko 2X TC Samples

I recently purchased a Kenko Teleplus DG-7 2X TC (non-reporting) and went out to shoot the first time with it with my 70-200 and 550d. All images were taken with MF and M mode and developed with LR5.

Some observations:

1) Wide open is unusable, F8 eqiv. is good in the center and F11 eqiv. helps away from the center.

2) Focus is extremely challenging, although I never shot at this length before. I didn't even try AF as it is useless with this lense without a TC. It was a mix of viewfinder and 10X LV focusing.

3) Colors and contrast are degraded, the details are there, it requires a lot of PP to bring them out though.

4) CA is real bad if focus is even slightly off, but can be removed

5) Better technique will result in much better images
