D700 FINALLY replaced!

Yes....it's time to except the reality.

The new Nikon D810 EASILY and UTTERLY replaces the D700.

Some don't want to admit it because they don't want to spend the money, so they hang onto the ficticious notion that their aging D700 is still in the mix. Well, it aint!

The new D810 is 5 FPS at 36mp, with dynamic range, color, detail and high ISO ability that is well beyond the D700. At just 1 FPS slower, let's not pretend that the D700 is some sort of sports camera when used without the grip.

We also get 6 and 7 FPS in crop modes that STILL offer more resolution, DR and noise control than the dated D700.

1 addition frame per second is ALL the D700 has above the D810. The D810 betters the D700 in EVERY OTHER RESPECT, from color and resolution to focus and video.

The D700 is still a wonderful camera, but stop the nonsense. The D810 is a D700/D3 crushing machine. Who's not going to trade 1 FPS for all of those advantages, unless they're broke or not interested in photography?

D800/D800e owners have a tougher decision of course, but to heck with it. I'm getting a D810.

Cheers and happy 4th!
