Did you look at the battery that came with your camera? Mine says "explose" and it is genuine. Did you see the images of genuine batteries posted by cosmoxl (they also have "ridiculous label misspellings")?

All batteries pictured by cosmoxl spell Japan uppercase, but only these manufactured in 2012 spell "explose". That is the same as with the genuine batteries that I have.

I believe that Olympus fixed the single misspelling around 2013, while the fakers never did. There are also other small differences in lettering.
