D600 diffraction limit

just heard in a video training about diffraction limit of a camera and that it depends on the pixel size on the sensor.

Looking around in Internet I understand that D600 has a higher diffraction limit then the D800, something around f13 if not f16.

Some questions:

- is there any official number around the D600 diffraction limit

- I am a bit confused about how it relates to lenses performance: in many tests on photozones for example I have seen that performace degrages beyond f8, so that f11 and above are not even measured. Now if the diffraction limit depends on the camera and not on the lenses then in theory should have 1 test for each camera (and test would be in any case only comparable on, say, cameras with the same pixel size and sensor area, which I understand accounts ultimately for the diffraction). Makes any sense to you?

Any pointer to in-depth article would be appreciated.
