Yes, if they are smart they will as the LX series is moving to 1" along with Fuji and Nikon.

Sorry, no. The s100-series is built for being small with a nice zoom, but put a much bigger image sensor and it'd get bigger and heavier. Want a bigger image sensor in the G-series? Get the G1 X markII.

Does Canon really want a camera that sits between the S120 and G1X II ?

Still, I'd like to see Canon or Nikon come up with a pocketable 1" sensor, F/2.8 - f/4.0 with 5x zoom 24 - 120mm.
