How true! Lot of settings to adjust, change and work with to see if any one of them makes any difference to the shutter shock problem.
I fooled around with quite a few of those settings today ... including switching to "short" shutter lag. The latter has improved things tremendously. A larger percentage of the images are sharp and, of those that do indicate shutter shock, the effect has been reduced in magnitude. The ghosting is there, but it's harder to see. I'm going to be working with other settings changes as the days go by and will let everyone know what more turns up ... if anything.
Thanks for your input.
Thanks for posting this information, I've learned a few things about my E-P5 which I still love despite it's shortcomings. I had not set all of the settings recommended by the posters stated here and after going through the menu and setting some parameters about SS and Release Mode I can pixel peep and see improvement in some of my images.
I thought the '0' second anti-shock setting was the cure all for getting the most out of the E-P5. At first I was angry with your first post but holding back my first (wrong) impression I realize you were just sharing your impressions of how the new firmware wasn't as effective as thought and the following posters helped clarify, for me, other camera settings that could also help with this SS problem.
SteveG, please keep us informed with your experiences with this problem because I for one would benefit from this knowledge.
