The question I ask is is the DP2(s,m,q) a useful addition to the Sigma DP line?

I bought a DP2M myself and its a beast of a camera! But it seems to me that the 30mm F2.8 is not that useful at all. It can produce great landscape shots but it is to narrow compared with the DP1. It is good for close portrait but I can imagine that the DP3 is a better portrait cam. And when I look at the forums it seems to me a lot of people own a DP1 followed by DP3 but very few use a DP2.

So where does the DP2(M) shine? Where is the strong side of this great camera?

Maybe Sigma should rethink their lineup. 35mm F1.8 (F1.4) anyone? Or a 23mm F2.8? Wouldn't that be more useful?

I use my DP2M much more than my 1M, it's close to the classic 50mm FOV so it's quite a decent focal length for shooting all sorts of stuff. Personally I would have preferred a 35mm FOV but I've got used to the focal length now and the lens is truly superb, better than on the 1M. I shoot mostly landscape and scenics with it and I don't find it too narrow, you just have to pick your shots. If I want wider I'll use the 1M but often I find the 2M just about right. The lens is so good that cropping is just not a problem if I need to, I'm also getting the 3M but I still expect the 2M to be the one I use the most.
