Brands what you have mentioned aren't available in India, so I'm limited to looking at best possible options available in Monfrotto/Gitzo.

Any suggestions with Monopods & Head from these two brands will be of great help.

I have a Manfrotto 679B aluminum monopod with a #236 tilt head. That's not a QR head, but I added a Kirk QR later.

This has served me well for an APS-C Sony A57 with a 18-250mm Sigma. I'm not doing birds, but rather places where I don't want to carry a tripod for various reasons.

I do suggest that if you get a QR system that you make sure all your tripods and monopods use the same system.

Thanks Austinian for your inputs......I did have a look at Monfrotto Monopods 679B, 680B and couple more models....I felt they were heavy.....and for the budget what I have....I was thinking Sirui would make sense. So currently reviewing P-424 & L-10. Any input on this...

Thanks for input on QR, shall note down this point.
