I am all caught up. So I have to ask this.
Hey Kevin,
I didnt mean to duplicate some stuff you already had talked about earlier. I should have read all the threads but just wanted to give my reaction to your photos in my first post and move on. But now that I am here is seems like you are frustrated by the mush but like the zoom. I get that. Greynerd and I seem to be on the exact same page on keeping the small sensors to 12mp. I wish the SP100 had done that.
I read the debate about the landscapes with small sensors. I think some do it better than others too, but overall I have not been happy landscapes even for general use even with my FZ200. It does OK but move the sensor size up just a hair bigger seems to do way better. Like with my Olympus XZ-1 and my Panansonic LF1.
So I have to ask, have you considered carrying a small LF1 in your pocket for some landscapes. I think thats what the other guy was getting at, but somehow not saying it right. Maybe you already answered it and I missed it. I also dont want to bring up a sore subject, but it does seem logical to me given your interest in the landscapes. The LF1 is 12MP and 1/1.17. and $299

It was windy here with this one. But I still like it.

Or for more money about $600 now on sale which is out of superzoom area, but you could make great use of it with your skill. You could get a Ricoh GR for your pocket and landscapes and keep the Olympus on your shoulder. http://www.scottzinda.com/Point-and-Shoot-Cameras/Ricoh-GR/i-kwdBQHw
