Re: It really does

My only complaint, not specific to this camera only, is the noise reduction issue because I often crop in pretty close and I can deal with noise but not smearing. I returned an SH-50 because of this. I was torn, very pleased with the photo quality but for the way I often use a camera, what I need is something that is not smearing the trees and grass at 100% so I can crop as little or as much as I want. The xz-2 does a great job and even the xz-1. So I know Oly is capable of doing it. The LX7, the G6, the Coolpix 7100, to some extent the FZ35, and all my DSLRs, but a pocket zoomer like the SH-50 is really what I need at times. I did not mean to demean the photo quality in any way. It takes great photos overall as does the SH-50.

Yes this camera likes to smear the detail, especially trees and grass, more so at wide angle. There is no option in the menu to change the noise reduction setting either.
