Re: Selling my D800E for WHAT?!?

For using MF lenses, A7R is much better and easier. We all know Nikon doesn't have a good implementation of LiveView.

As if you should keep Nikon lenses that is upto your future consideration. I keep all my Canon lenses as I am not going to give up Canon gear that DSLRs still have advantages in specific areas and Canon has some beautiful lenses. Instead I use most Canon lenses on A7R thru adapter. At this moment I only have one FE lens, FE 35 but I will get more lenses such as FE 55 and waiting to see FE 16-35. FE 24-70 is not best in this FL range but still a good compromise although I believe it will be far more attractive at $1000. FE 70-200 is an excellent zoom, virtually at par with Nikon 70-200G/4.0 VR and slightly edges out Canon 70-200L/4.0 IS.

D800E is a more versatile camera. But if you use mainly in landscape on tripod, then A7R probably a better option and you still can use Nikon or any SLR/DSLR lenses thru adapters.

A7/R AF in general is not bad and pretty fast except in very low light. I use MF most on A7R with Canon lenses anyway so that doesn't bother me.
