I chose a tilt head from Custom Brackets and a monopod from Induro (carbon fiber CM25). The monopod has a nice belt holster. Other choices for heavy duty tilt heads include Kirk, Hejnar, and RRS. I haven't used the combo for anything heavier than a 400mm f/5.6L though. Most tripod manufacturers make a monopod with similar tubes and leg locks to their tripods, so choose the style leg lock you like and then manufacturer choice will follow. I hike, and didn't want lever locks that would catch on vegetation, so I chose a brand with twist locks.

Thanks Nancy for your inputs.

Brands what you have mentioned aren't available in India, so I'm limited to looking at best possible options available in Monfrotto/Gitzo.

Any suggestions with Monopods & Head from these two brands will be of great help.
