Re: Nikon 18-35mm G User Review

I have a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.. I'd like to get wider than 24mm sometimes.. is 18mm enough? Would I start to feel like the two lenses were overlapping? I'm worried about it being excessive in terms of both having to buy the lens, and carrying an extra lens in the bag.. should I save up for a 14-24mm?

18 is pretty darn wide! And overlapping focal ranges keep you from having to switch lenses constantly.

I LOVE the 14-24, it an amazing lens. But it huge, heavy and I so rarely use 14mm and constantly bump up against 24mm when shooting landscapes. 18-35 is a much more useful range to me. Much less having to switch to mid range lenses.
