Hello I have two old lens from my 7d days and was wondering if they would work on the A77II. Thinking of purchasing one a little later and was wondering if I something to start with.

Thank you.

Ahoy!

The MIN50F17 was the kit lens of it's day but is still highly rated, though the later RS version is a nicer lens though the F/3.5 and F/2.8 Macro versions are tack sharp and the F/3.5 isn't that different in terms of price to the standard MIN50F17.

Now then, the Min 135/2.8 is very sought-after and very highly rated (see the Dyxum lenses section of image samples, specifications and image samples) and is worth a truck-load of money. Apart from that, it's a stunningly good lens in it's own right and one that I would hang on to.  Have you checked for the rear aperture lever action and inspected the lenses internally for any fungus, mould, haze, dust or fibres?  The aperture lever should return with an immediate snap.  If it's slow or dampened, this will cause over-exposure.  Also check the blades are dry and oil free.  If all the above check out OK, then you have a pair of very nice FF primes, especially if they have their OEM caps and both front and rear elements are in-tact with no delamination of lens coatings, scratches, chips etc.

Finally, only use filters for storage or transit unless you're using specialist types such as CPL and ND GRAD for example as UV, Haze and Skylight will likely degrade IQ.

I'm sure you'll enjoy using them.
