Joint A+E mount?

Thinkling about new A-mount lenses, it seems that there is somewhat of an overlap between A lenses and FE lenses for the A7 (and future) FF bodies, with the personality of the A lenses towards the fast, larger glass and the FE lenses towards slightly slower, smaller lenses. But yet they both share the same image circle.

Why not make lenses that incorporate bayonets that are compatible with both A and FE/E mounts? They can just be offset by 90 degrees to each other. That way Sony can consolidate their family of lenses, and make a range of faster-larger vs smaller-slower lenses that users from both the A-series and E-series cameras can use... without an adapter.

For example, with the upcoming 16-35/4.0 supposedly for the FE mount, I"m sure some A-series customers would not mind using this either (ie: there is quite an interest in Canon users for their upcoming similar lens). Not everyone needs a 2.8... and it should not be limited only to E mount.
