was asked to do street photography for a magazine... do I need model releases?

Hi everyone.

A friend of mine is an owner and editor of an online magazine.

Next issue will have an article about NY City food trucks (yup, it's our latest craze here) serving Peruvian, Columbian, Mexican and other South American foods.

Being the photographer, I am concerned about the necessity for model release forms and if I even need them to publish photos taken of people being themselves (eating) on a New York Street.

The owners of these Food Trucks are of course aware of the project and gave us their full consent to shoot away.  I am only concerned about the legality of publishing photos of unsuspecting customers of these food trucks.

Since this will be happening on a public street, do I even need a model release to publish photos of people in a magazine article?

Thanks for your answers in advance.
