15mm 1.7 is much sharper than the 17mm 1.8!

Yes, i'm sure they are both good. You're right about the 15 for landscape/cityscape and architecture. Being a bit wider than the 17 will be better. 30mm equivalent; that's pretty close to the classic wide angle for architecture at 28mm. Hope they send you a good example this time!
