Hi Scott,

It's really not possible to determine the quality settings from the size of the jpg since that varies a great deal on the amount of detail in the image itself.

For example, shoot an image of a textureless feature filling the screen such as a large piece of plastic, then shoot another of fine grained sand and compare the jpg sizes.
