Re: A6000 or RX100MKIII

I have the A6000 and love it.  Lenses are great too, but missing a good value 24mm 1.8 with OSS to complete what I want from it.  I have 35/50 primes SEL10-18 wide and the 18-105 F4 which is fantastic; very light but that is about long focal length as I need.  It is a big lens though and so I keep looking at the RX100 MK3 which no doubt is a great camera.

The A6000 and 16-50 kit zoom is quite compact and good though and is not far off the same range.

The Lumix LX8 is due to be announced July with a 1" sony sensor (same one) and 12-90mm F2.0 lens and 4k video so I am waiting to compare this to the RX100 Mk3.  It seems to have longer range  and 4k video as advantage, but likely bit bigger and RX video is great anyway. It also might push prices down; see the FZ1000 announcement for an idea of specs

I guess it depends upon your needs: A6000 is more versatile and better image quality but bigger!

Value wise A6000 is fantastic, but you will need to spend a lot more for good lenses.

I would wait to see the LX8 announcement as that might be another source of GAS!
